Time to get the creative juices working and create your own masterpiece….we can’t wait to see what you come up with! When it comes to this type of project, you’re only limited by your imagination and your own brand of creative inspiration!

What will you do to make your hat special? The Queensland Garden Show is always looking for ways to create colour in the garden and lots of colour could be what makes your hat stand out. Consider using materials found in nature…seeds, pods or leaves could have an impact. Why not look around the house to see if there are any discarded items that could have a second life on your creative design…used cable ties, milk bottle caps?
A couple of things to note…
- Hats should be decorated with a ‘botanical’ theme and include some sort of flower (real or fake), or plant decoration.
- Hats should be a standard size and no larger than 60cm wide unless by prior arrangement.
All entrants will receive a free ticket to the Queensland Garden Show and there will be prizes awarded in each of the following categories.
PRIZE CATEGORIES:
- Most Creative: 1st Prize $150 / 2nd Prize $75
- Best Botanically Themed: 1st Prize $150 / 2nd Prize $75
- Best Children’s Entry: 1st Prize $100 / 2nd Prize $50.

WHEN CAN I DROP OFF MY HAT?
All decorated hats must be delivered to Nambour Showgrounds, Coronation Ave, Nambour on Monday 7th July and Tuesday 8th July 2025 between 8am and 4pm. Please take these to the Main Gate entrance off Coronation Avenue – you will be directed on where to exchange for a ticket by gate personnel.
WHAT WILL YOU RECEIVE
Queensland Garden Show entry passes, (1 for each entry), will be available at Nambour Showgrounds for collection when the completed hat is delivered.
JUDGING
Judging will take place on Friday 11th July, 2025 prior to 12pm. The judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Prize money will be paid via pre-paid Visa Card. These can be collected at the event or will be posted after the event.
HAT COLLECTION
If you wish to collect your hat, these can be collected at the conclusion of the event (Monday 12th July or Tuesday 13th July between 9am – 1pm).
